10-min accessibility map Dubai

School Accessibility in Dubai is a spatial analysis project examining how many schools fall within 5- to 15-minute walking catchment areas of the city's rail-based public transport network.

While walking accessibility is not the primary framework for understanding mobility in a city shaped by a harsh climate and car-oriented urban structure, the analysis provides valuable insight into pedestrian access around public transit in the "Pearl of the Middle East."

The study reveals that a significant share of schools lies outside the 15-minute walking isochrones of Dubai's Metro, Tram, and Monorail stations.

The interactive map application enables users to generate 5-, 10-, and 15-minute walking isochrones around transit stations or to load pre-calculated datasets. Powered by Cesium technology, the platform offers a fully immersive 3D exploration of Dubai's dynamic urban landscape.
